Stephen Douglas Furniss, age 62, of Muncie, IN, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Grand Rapids, MI. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Louis Claire Furniss, father-in-law, William D. Stockdale, brother-in-law, Thomas McCambridge and sister-in-law, Susan Stockdale. Stephen is survived by his wife, Mary (Stockdale) and her mother, Alice Stockdale-Nye; as well as his mother, Geraldine Hornig Furniss; godson, Jason Boonstra, his wife, Amanda and their two daughters, Alex and Ameilia. Also surviving are his three sisters, Susan (Bill) Griswold of Grand Rapids, Sally McCambridge of Traverse City, MI and Sarah (Ken) Bolter of Grand Rapids; three brothers-in-law, David (and friend, Barbara Meines) Stockdale of Lowell, MI, John (Sylvia) of West Bloomfield, MI and William (Diane) Stockdale of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
