Richard was preceded in death by: his parents, Travis and Ruth Marston; and brothers, Ralph and Austin Marston. He is survived by: wife, Beatrice Marston; children, Stacey (Tom) Buschert, Robin (Lee) Cooper, and Lorri (Jeff Upton) Marston; Step-children, Brian (Lesley) Kozminski and Barry Kozminski; His grandchildren; Kayleen (Leonard) Van Gelder, Jaron Buschert, Zachary (Tricia) Buschert, Aubree (Seth Meyer) Buschert, and Brandon Buschert, William and Nicholas Cooper, Simone and Camille Kozminski, Eleia and Naomi Kozminski; and four great grandchildren; brother, Donald Marston; many nieces, nephews and friends; as well as his best friend of 50 + years Mark McNeil who was always there for him.
Richard worked at Marton Tool and Die for 37 years. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Bass Casters fishing club for 25 years and served as president for a time. He was on a bowling league with friends for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and camping for many years. In his later years, he loved playing golf. Richard was a handyman who was always willing to help anyone.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with a lunch served at 1, on Thursday March 27, 2025 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE. Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Richard will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Blythefield Memory Gardens in Belmont.
