Phyllis Howard

Phyllis Marie Howard, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2013 while surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was very committed to her faith and an active parishioner of St. Alphonsus Parish. She spent many years volunteering her time at the St. Alphonsus food bank. Throughout her life she touched many hearts through her cards and notes. She will be deeply missed by her children James B. (Patricia) Howard, Richard M. (Marcia) Howard Sr., Nancy A. “Howard” Kiniry, Robert T. (Cynthia) Howard, Susan Kay “Howard” (John) Andrews and Patricia J. “Howard” Kammer; grandchildren Michael Howard, Sara (Mike) Valentine, Daniel Howard, Richard (Kolleen) Howard Jr., Christine (Paul) Tober, Theresa (Nick) Maksymowski, Patrick C. Kiniry Sr., Zackary Howard, Emily Howard, Ashley Andrews, Andrew Kammer, Grant Kammer, Lauren Kammer, and Madison Kammer; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Barb Colvin; nephew Dean Sigler; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her Husband John A. Howard; brother Louis E. (Nettie) Sigler II; nephew Louis E. Sigler III; son-in-laws John M Kiniry Jr. and Kevin Kammer; and grandson John M. Kiniry III. The family will be greeting friends on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM (with a rosary being held at 7:30 PM) at Reyers North Valley Chapel (2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) and again on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 10-11 AM at St. Alphonsus Parish(224 Carrier St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). The Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Phyllis’ life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Parish. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Alphonsus Parish food Pantry.
