Michael David McKinney

The son of Robert & Doris McKinney, he was born on July 20, 1953 in Muskegon, MI.

He grew up in Twin Lake, MI, where he attended Twin Lake Elementary/Reeths Puffer High School. Once graduating from high school he enlisted into the United States Navy. After time spent in the Navy he moved to Ann Arbor, MI, where he met his wife, Rosemary Kendricks. They had four children together, Makala, Michael, Emeka and Emefa. He then had his youngest son, Marcus McKinney.

Michael was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Walter Butts.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Rosemary; Surviving are his five children; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren all living in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area, MI; brothers, Gregory McKinney of, Milan, MI, and Carlos McKinney of Whitehall, MI; sisters, Cheryl McKinney of Twin Lake, MI, Rosalind (Dale) Turner of Chula Vista, CA, and Lela McKinney of Muskegon, MI.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service with honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, at a later date.
