Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids. The
daughter of immigrants from Grimm, Russia, Fred Trott & Margerite
(Birkheim) Trott, she was born on July 11, 1931 in Fond Du Lac, WI.
When Mary Jane was 18 months old her mother died in childbirth. She
spent the next three years living with her Aunt Molly, Uncle Fred and
cousin Richard Wehling in Cincinnati. Only a month apart, Richard and
Mary Jane remained close throughout her life.
Having graduated from Goodrich High School (now Fond du Lac HS) in
1949, Mary Jane worked for a movie theater, the Infant Socks Company, and then as a telephone operator, which became her occupation for much of her adult life.
She moved to California in the mid-1950s with seven other young women (in two cars) from the Fond du Lac area. They were escaping winter. Although she returned home for the birth of her son, she would spend 50 years of her life in Huntington Beach, CA.
In her late thirties, Mary Jane joined the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her
faith became the most important part of her life and it was also the
source of great friendships for the remainder of her life.
Mary Jane was fun-loving, good-natured and generous till her death.
She was dear to the Porter Hills Village nurses and staff who cared
for her (dementia) in the last years of her life.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Stephan (Lynda Joyce) Davis of Cascade Twp.; grandchildren, Noah and Hana Davis of Cascade; siblings, Ken Trott, Lorraine Jacobson, Mark Trott and Janice Duket, all of Wisconsin.
Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. To sign Mary Jane’s
