Margaret Ellen Anderson Schmidt passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 while her husband, David, was in the hospital. She was born in Fremont, Michigan on May 14, 1955 to Frank and Eleanor Magnant Anderson. Margaret married David Leroy Schmidt on March 30, 1985. Margaret is survived by: her loving husband, David; and siblings: brother, Frank and Marion of Rothbury; sister, Beverly and Francis (Skeeter) Harris of Twin Lake; brother, Don and Susan Anderson of Casnovia; brother, Terry and Marilyn of Muskegon; sisters-in-law, Sandy Anderson of Newaygo, Jquin Anderson of Muskegon, Gail Anderson of Newaygo, and Sharon Schmidt of Spring Lake; brother and sister in law, Jerry and Janet Schmidt of Kentwood; as well as, many special nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by: father, Frank Anderson, and mother, Eleanor Magnant Anderson; brother and sister in law, William and Jewell Anderson; brothers, baby Jimmy, Roland, Gary, and Raymond; and brother in law, Michael Q. Schmidt. Margaret worked for the city of Grand Rapids in several department before her retirement. Margaret was an avid doll collector and greatly loved by family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church, 2040 Oakwood Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. The family will welcome guests one hour prior to the start of the service.
