Lenny spent over 40 years as a resident on Murray Lake. He enjoyed seeing all parts of the lake, the shores, and the scenery from his boat, as much as he enjoyed a peaceful evening on the dock. He was happiest at home surrounded by his family.
Back in the day, Lenny was an all-city bowler. He was involved in a few bowling leagues over the years and was proud of the multiple 300 games he bowled. However, no perfect game ever beat the hole-in-one he got while golfing.
Lenny will be remember for his sharp wit. He was also known for being even-keeled. After 28 years together, he would still tease his wife, Cynthia. Lenny was like the oars that kept Cynthia afloat among the storm.
Lenny is survived by his bride, Cynthia (Crawford) Sweetman; “bonus children”, David (Claudia) Crawford and Colleen (Scott) Johnson; grandchildren Samantha Crawford, Danielle Johnson, and Nick Johnson; brothers Ronald (Judy) Sweetman and Kenneth Sweetman; and of course, his furry companion, Mya Bug. He was preceded in death by “bonus son” Dan Crawford; his parents; and sisters Rosalyce “Sally” Sweetman and Nancy Sweetman.
A memorial gathering with a short service will take place on Tuesday, May 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel, where a lunch will be served.
Special thank you to Dr. Santos and the staff at the Spectrum Health Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, to Mike Smith for everything he has done for Len and Cynthia, and to Debbie Hilton for all of her emotional support.
Memorial donations may be made to an animal rescue or charity of your choice.
Lenny never let Cynthia leave the house without giving her a kiss and saying “I love you”. Take after Lenny, and never let people leave without telling them you love them.
“I love you, forever and a day.”
