Joseph Leo Kubiak

Joseph Leo Kubiak age 58, a father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, died on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at his home in Alto, MI. Joe was born on Feb. 11, 1958, in Grand Rapids, MI. Preceding him in death were his parents William J. and Barbara M. Kubiak and his younger brother Anthony J. Kubiak. Joe leaves behind a daughter Crystal Mae Kubiak; a son Leo Jean Kubiak; 4 grandchildren: Xavier M. Manning, Jon B. Kubiak, Zachary Kubiak and Alexis Kubiak. Also surviving are 2 sisters Heidi Anne (Kubiak) Jones and Robin Mary (Kubiak) Siegel; former wife Dorothy Vance; 2 brothers-in-law, 5 nieces and a nephew. A simple man of many talents, Joe worked for years as a wood carver eventually achieving the status of Master Carver. Many ornate mantles, wood sculptures, altar pieces and various decorative carvings remain as a part of his artistic legacy. Joe had a love of nature, particularly animals, and took care of many strays over the years. He liked music, had a kind heart and enjoyed conversation. Those who were part of Joe's life will miss him very much.
