John “Jack” Norman Frazine, age 42 of Quincy, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2022 as a result of a car accident. Jack was born on September 24, 1980 to Richard & Kolleen (Detmers) Frazine. Growing up in the Catholic faith, Jack would maintain a strong faith throughout his entire life.
After graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1999, where he played basketball and was on the football team, Jack went on to Grand Valley State University where he received a bachelor degree in science . Feeling a strong pull towards a career in theology, Jack furthered his education at Saint Louis University and earned his masters degree in Pastoral Studies from Aquinas Institute of Theology.
After working as a youth pastor for a while, life’s path provided him the opportunity to become a stay at home dad. Being a parent came naturally to Jack, and he relished the years he was able to spend raising his son and daughter. Fresh air and daily outdoor activities were a part of Jack’s routine with the kids. He taught them the adventure of a nature hike or a good bike ride. Anyone that knew Jack, knew that “Dad” was his favorite title.
As the kids were getting older and now into school full time, Jack rejoined the work force and was enjoying his new career path as a spiritual director for St. Louis University. He was passionate about guiding the students and helping them find their faith.
When Jack was able to sit at his desk, he would work on what he hoped would be a literary masterpiece. His ambition was to write a number one best seller on the New York Times Best Seller list., Ultimately Jack’s literary legacy will be the story that lives on in the smiles of his children, the sounds of their laughter and love that he instilled in them.
Jack is survived by his children Karoline & Henry Frazine, his parents Richard & Kolleen Frazine, his girlfriend Lori George, his sister Lenel (Chris) Farmer; his brother Rick (Sandy) Frazine; the mother of his children Dana Frazine; his nieces and nephews: Annie, Brendan, Courtney, Dominic, Christine & Emma; and his special aunt Kristine Detmers as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
