James Philip Toohey

James Philip Toohey SSG Retired, aged 76, passed away peacefully Friday, January 16, 2015 surrounded by his family. James was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on December 31, 1938 to the late Paul and Vera Toohey. He is also preceded in death by his sister Sharon. James is survived by his wife of 56 years Jutta, their children Rita (Bob) Karamol, Norm (Teresa) Toohey, and Mike (Deb) Toohey; his grandchildren, Toni Fanelli, Becky (Josh) Teusink, Ryan Toohey, Allen Toohey, Jack Toohey, Kaitlyn Toohey, and Kevin Toohey; his 2 great-grandchildren Zachary and Kayleigh Teusink. He is also survived by his twin brother Jerrold (Mercedes) Toohey and many nieces and nephews. James proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was also a devoted family man and had been an enthusiastic bowler. James also enjoyed time fishing and golfing. Please join James’ family for visitation on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. The Funeral Service is to take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11am at Reyers North Valley Chapel with an additional hour visitation prior.
