Henry Richard Geiger

Henry Richard Geiger, aged 73, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Richard Obetts, brother-in-law Carl Obetts, and nephew, Joe Obetts. Surviving are his sister, Barb Obetts, special friend, Edie Burr, former wife, Myrna Harder, son, Richard H. Geiger, daughter, Ann Marie Geiger, nine nieces and nephews, and many friends and extended family. Henry was a 1956 graduate of Comstock Park High School, 1963 Bachelor graduate of Ferris State University, and 1971 Masters graduate of Michigan State University. Henry had a passion for golf and was the captain of the golf team in high school, and a coach and PGA pro at the Flint Country Club. He was a member of the National Education Association and taught throughout West Michigan, most notably, driver education for 25+ years with Grand Rapids Community Education. Henry was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and Sigma Phi Epsilon. He enjoyed traveling, especially to both Northern Michigan and throughout Kentucky and Florida. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Thursday, March, 29, 2012 at St. Alphonsus Church, 224 Carrier NE, with Rev. Bernie Carlin C.Ss.R. as celebrant. Friends and relatives may meet his family for visitation from 5pm – 8pm (Rosary 7:30pm) on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, and for one hour prior to Mass on Thursday at the Church.
