Gloria Sandiford

Gloria Jewel Sandiford, aged 90, of Walker passed away peacefully in the company of her family on Thursday, April 26, 2018. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1927 and is preceded in death by her parents William Ray and Gertrude Groves (Geglio) Kramer, her beloved husband of 63 years, Horace J. “HJ/Sandy” Sandiford, her son-in-law Gary Lofquist and grandchildren Lisa Lofquist Richardson and Brad Lofquist. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sally Sandiford, Susan Lofquist, Philip (Junghye Kang) Sandiford, grandchildren, Kyle Soentgen, Jamie (Chris) Soentgen-Burton, Erika (Brian) Dech, Sean (Elizabeth) Hanify, Morgan (Viletta) Sandiford, Mungyu (Danim Kwan) Kim and brother Roger (Alice) Kramer as well as by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated employee and Union Representative of Thornapple Valley Products until her retirement. At her passing she had been a resident for over six years of Yorkshire Manor where she enjoyed the care and compassion of fellow residents and staff. Inurnment Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 12:30 PM at Graceland Memorial Park Chapel, (4341 Cascade Rd SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546) ,officiated by Pastor John Lowder, followed by a Celebration of Gloria’s life at her daughter Susan’s home, (3831 Edinboro NW Walker, MI 49534).
