Gary John Steffens went to his heavenly home on August 11, 2023, his 62 birthday, having completed his work of spreading unconditional love to everyone. He was greeted joyfully by his dad, Fred Steffens, infant brother Freddy, and his brother-in-law Gary Juhlin, his best friend and buddy.
Gary will be deeply missed by his mother, Christine (Iciek) Steffens, siblings Dennis (Mary Jo) Steffens, Nadine (Dan) Zarzecki, Mary (Greg Tusch) Juhlin, Michelle Yoder, Robert (Trina Moynihan) Steffens and James (Toni Marie) Steffens. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
After graduating from Lincoln School, Gary participated in various programs sponsored by Hope Network for 34 years. He loved family activities, including enjoying vacations with his parents, adding his unforgettable charm and unique brand of humor our family will always cherish.
Our family deeply appreciates the supportive and caring staffs, first at Lincoln School, then Hope Network, and finally, at Edison Christian Life Services and Faith Hospice. They made Gary’s life more joyful and interesting.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel Funeral Home, 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 where a scripture service will follow at 7:00 PM.
A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for family; Internment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
