Dorothy V. Kelley

Dorothy V. (Tryc) Kelley, aged 83, of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at St. Ann's Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Kelley, parents, Joseph and Alexandria, brothers, Roman, Harry, and Dick, and her beloved sisters, Sophie and Rosemari. Surviving are her sister, Martha Soltysiak; brother-in-law, Bob Colon; step-daughter, Barbara Risdon; many nieces and nephews. Dorothy and Jim loved to travel in their motor home, covering 40 states, and finally wintering in Mesa, AZ for many years. She had retired from the Teamsters after 25 years of loyal service. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 6369 Belmont Ave. NE, with Rev. Peter Vu as Celebrant. Encryptment in Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet her family one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday. For those who wish, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank her dear friend, Ceil Pyard, for her many visits to spend time with Dorothy, and to the staff of St. Ann's Home for their excellent care they gave to Dorothy as well.
