Connie Jean Messersmith

At the age of 10 years old, Connie met the love of her life, Les Messersmith, age 12 at the pickle station across the family farm. Soon after graduating from high school, the young couple would marry on February 29, 1966 and just celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Connie was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family. After raising her three children, she delighted in the births of her seven grandchildren. There were countless memories made around the family dining table playing cards and games.

When she took time for herself, Connie would escape into a good book, she especially liked romance novels, and watching soap operas.

Connie had a quiet but unbreakable faith in God and a deep love of family.

She is survived by her husband, Les, her children: Linda (Chad) Vanderhyde, Lisa (Matt) Sunderlin and Kevin (Hazel Gerez) Messersmith; her grandchildren: Krystyn (Corbin Martin) Messersmith, Nicole Sunderlin, Cody (Lauren) Sunderlin, Connor Sunderlin, Tyler Messersmith, Jhozel Molino and Samantha Messersmith; her sisters: Sherron (Dave) Curtiss and Annette (Jerry) Witte and her brother-in-law Russ (Jean) Messersmith as well as many other relative. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Craig Dowling.

Visitation for Connie will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday June 21, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held on Friday June 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Winn, Michigan.
