Clara Lucille Ryder

Clara was a kind-hearted, generous, and wise woman who loved her family. Clara was born in Hastings, Michigan on September 8, 1932 to the late Howard and Rose Heacock. She was married for 63 years to the late Richard Ryder.

Clara liked planning large family get-togethers where she enjoyed cooking and serving food to her family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and homemaking. A good steward of her fiances, Clara was known for being a selfless, generous wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Clara will be remembered for her caring and patient demeanor, qualities that made her a great listener and a patient mediator.

Due to current state restrictions, there will be a private family visitation and funeral.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Rose Heacock of Bowne Center; sisters, Marie Timmers of Caledonia and Alice VanDenBrock of Bowne Center; and her husband, Richard Ryder of Grand Rapids. She is survived by her children Deborah (Daron) Johnson, Mark Ryder, and David (Sarah) Ryder; grandchildren Racheal (Trevor), Jessica (Mike), Matthew, and Joseph; great-grandson Hayden and her brother Howard (Mary) Heacock of Bowne Center.
