Cathleen E Green

Cathleen Green (nee: King, formerly Thompson) aged 85, ended her earthly journey and entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Cathy was preceded in death by her first husband Edwin Thompson and parents Clyde and Willdonna King and sister Dawn Faber. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 23 years Donald Green, children; Barbara (John) Manton III of Burnet, TX, Beverly (Alan) Combs, step-children; Tim (Nadine) Green, Tom Green. Cathy had eight grandchildren; John Manton IV, Douglas Manton, Teresa Shepard, Aaron Combs, Shannon Buys, Jacob Green, Amy Green, Matthew Green and five Great-grandchildren; Anthony Manton, Bella, Natalie Combs, Rebekah Buys, Nicholas Green. Her siblings are Carlyle (Louise) King, Zelda Hutton, Wanda VanKammen, and Dale (Nancy) King. Cathy was a graduate of Baptist Bible Seminary which was a calling for her. Her education served her well as she became an outstanding Sunday School Teacher in many of the churches she attended. Cathy raised her family in a fine Christian home and was very giving, opening her doors to missionaries and ministers as they came through town for different events. Her sense of humor and love was felt even through her last couple of days. She will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church 2050 Aberdeen NE with Pastor Brett Boomsma officiating. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE and one hour prior to the service at church.
