Casey was a 2008 graduate of Northview High School and went to pursue a career with the Michigan National Guard. Casey proudly served her country for over 10 years, and was an E6 Staff Sergeant with the 1463rd Transportation Company. When she was not serving in the military, she held a long time career in transportation and logistics. Casey also worked as Certified Nursing Assistant, and recently obtained her certificate in Sterile Processing and Surgical Technologist.
In her free time, Casey loved capturing beauty through a lens. Her favorite scenes to photograph included flowers, sunsets, and aquatic scenery. Casey also greatly enjoyed lots of hobbies including hunting & fishing, gardening, and canning. She made the best "cowboy candy". Anything she did, she did it with passion. Aside from her passion for her military career, she also collected coins and comic books, and loved animals. Casey was always fun to be around, and she had a great sense of humor. She always knew how to make light of any situation and make others laugh. She was a genuine person with a deep love for her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Casey is survived by: father, Timothy (Becky) Beukema; mother, Theresa (Jerry) DePew; sister, Heather (Matt) Pokora; as well as, many other beloved family members.
A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE. Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Military honors will be rendered at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Resilience of Holland or The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
