Carol Sue Shook, aged 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Carol was born in Marquette, Michigan on May 5, 1944, the daughter of Melvin and Sylvia Johnson. She grew up in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula and attended Marquette High School. She also graduated from the James Ward Thorne School of Nursing at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Carol worked for many years as an Emergency Room R.N. at Blodgett Hospital and later for Steelcase as an industrial nurse. She was preceded in death by her sister Lieutenant Colonel Donna Wiggins and is survived by her loving husband of 48 years David; their children Chad and Krisandra Shook; and granddaughter Samantha Shook. Together David and Carol enjoyed traveling annually to many destinations. They were avid Lake Michigan sailors, sailing from their home port at White Lake for many years. They wintered in Arizona, and enjoyed time at the family cottage on Lake Michigamme in the U.P. Please join the family for visitation from 10-11am on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church (2740 Fuller Ave. N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan) with the Memorial Services at 11am with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating. Graveside services will take place at a later date in Ishpeming, MI.
