Betty Jane Rood, aged 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2014 in Byron Center at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. Betty was born in October of 1941 in Wyoming, MI to Edward and Florence Burton who preceded her in death. Also preceding was her sister Ruth Gildner. Surviving Betty are her children; Christine (Dale) Sturdavant, David (Laurel) Rood, Robert (Robbie) Rood, and Timothy (Barbara) Rood as well as grandchildren; Lasey, Carinna, David, Ethan, Alexandria, Nick, Melisa, Justin, Ashley, Kim, Dana and Tara. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, her brothers; Richard Burton, Rodger Burton, Kenneth Burton, Robert Burton, Delva Burton and her sister Edna Franson. Betty was proud of her work as a restaurant cook and in her younger days she enjoyed motorcycling with her family. Please join her family on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10-11am for Visitation followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at Reyers North Valley Chapel with Chaplain Lee Ausema officiating.
