Beth Louise Russo

Beth Louise Russo, age 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Geno, her treasured children, Eric Brown, Kevin Brown, Shannon and Jeremiah Favreau, Angela Russo, Nicholas Russo, and grandson Mikiah Brown. Also left to cherish her memory are her parents, Rev. Gerald and Ardythe VanderVelde, siblings Dave and Jane VanderVelde, Karen and Tom Richardson, Susan and Addison Steele, many nieces and nephews who were very special to her, along with her aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and coworkers. Her extended family who will also miss her smile includes her in-laws Joe Russo, Lena and Ted Haaksma, Theresa and Jim Wolf, Lucy and Larry Behrens, Sam and Sue Russo, Pam and Frank Spica, Tony Russo, former husband Robert Brown and the Brown family. Beth was the happiest with family nearby, as they were the loves of her life. She had a lifelong love of the water, boating, camping, and sitting by the fire enjoying the company of great friends. She enjoyed great delight in seeing many forms of what she called majestic beauty. She had an amazing amount of love for her children and animals. One of her favorite verses, and one that best describes her is First Corinthians 13:13. “But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love”. Please join Beth’s family for visitation on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 5-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Oakview Community Church, (4242 Plainfield Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49525). One hour of visitation will take place at church prior to the funeral service. Those wishing to remember Beth by memorial contributions may choose to donate to Bethany Christian Services or the Humane Society.
