

Barbara Anne Kiehborth, age 61, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, on June 11, 2020. She is the beloved mother of Christine (Scott) Wanta, Charles (Becky) Kiehborth and Philip Kiehborth. Barb is survived by her grandchildren, Amber Wanta, Lee Wanta, Riley Wanta, Bree Kiehborth, Jaxon Kiehborth and Korrey Kiehborth. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike (Julie) Lamb, Cinda (Jim) Black, Karrie (Dave) Simmons, Craig (Betty) Lamb and Sherri Kling.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell (Berenice) Lamb and Shirley Chandler.
She will also be missed by her extended family, including many nieces, nephews and friends.
Barb was proud to have served in the United States Navy right out of high school, becoming the first female parachute rigger of her HSL squadron.
After leaving the service, Barb began working as a mail sorter for the United States Postal Service, promoting to Head of Labor and Head of HR, finally retiring as a Post Master for Grand Haven after a lengthy and distinguished career.
Her greatest honor in life was being a mother and a grandmother. She was a big Detroit Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She enjoyed going to different casinos, attending concerts and traveling. Her favorite trip was the 2017 Disney Trip with her whole family, when everyone was together.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family or Gilda’s Club.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel.
Funeral Service will be outside at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Friday, June 19 at 11am. A Private Military Honors Service will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery, where Barb will be laid to rest.
