William Everett Ferguson born August 7, 1943 in Vernon Texas went to heaven July 18, 2023 to receive his much awaited reward. He was 79. He was an ordained minister with Independent Assembly of God. He was a Pentecostal Minister who loved and served God with very strong convictions. His great desire was to lead as many people as possible to the Lord.
Bill was a Veteran who served in the US Navy and was a medic in the Marines Corps. He started working at age of 12, sweeping floors for J.C. Pennys. He taught at Lincoln Tech several years before being hired by Holt Caterpillar as an Instructor for 35 years. Bill retired in 2009 and worked for US Department of Labor for 10 years as Mine Safety and CPR instructor.
A very talented musician on several instruments, Bill really excelled on bass guitar, especially while playing faithfully for Heritage Church, as well as, singing solos. Bill was associate pastor, Wednesday night Bible Study Teacher, and Sunday School Teacher for several years at Heritage. Bill consistently and continuously prayed for the sick.
Survived by his wife of 25 years, Janis Ferguson, his “Sweetie Pie “; son, Paul Ferguson, and family of Guthrie Oklahoma. Also one very special grandson, Rowdy Raynor, and wife, Alisha; great granddaughter Gemma Rose of Collinsville, Texas. For the last two years anytime anywhere you saw Uncle Bill was his “sidekick “ Walter Sonny Vernon whom he dearly loved. Survived by a host of Janis’ nieces and nephews, who all loved and respected their Uncle Bill. He will be missed by his church family, friends and especially his "Sweetie Pie". Come go to heaven with him!
Visitation for William will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. Funeral service will take place Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Pentecostal Church of God, 5101 S. Briery Road, Irving, TX 75060. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
