Virginia Jo Clark, 90, of Grand Prairie, TX passed away April 4, 2014. Jo was born February 17, 1924 in Midian, Kansas to William C Guffey and Bernice Mae Trainer.Jo grew up in Midland, Texas and lived there most of her life. Later in life Jo married Leon Clark and they were transferred to Hobbs, New Mexico where they lived to be in their late 80’s. Jo was a long time member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, in Hobbs, New Mexico where she served in the choir for 22 years. She was also a member of the City Choir, “Jubilee”. Jo is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Leon H. Clark; son Michael E. Whitmire; brother William C. Guffey Jr., Gene Guffey. She is survived by daughter Nancy (Kearney) Kissinger, Lynne (Marcus) Walraven; son Marshall O. Whitmire Jr.; stepson Hilton Clark, eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, April, 18, 2014 at 1:30pm at Mathew Road Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, TX. Interment will be held at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 3:00pm. We will line up to go to the pavilion in Lane B.
