Sunny Mathew

Sunny Mathew was born to Lt. Mr. P.V. Mathai and Lt. Mrs. Saramma Mathai on 25th October 1957. He got married to Ani Sunny at the age of 25 and went on to have a family of 2 sons and daughter-in-law Joel Sunny Mathew - Sophia Joel and Jeff Sunny Mathew - Jis Jeff.

He spent his childhood in Mumbai and he flew to Doha at the age of 17 to work along with his father and has been contributing to his family from a young age. He was known as "Salaam Sunny" in the Doha community. He was very interested in photography and would never miss a chance to capture candid and special moments, especially during family and friends gatherings.

Our dad was a very caring son. He quit his job in Doha to care for and serve his father who was bedridden and was by his side till the last breath. After his retirement, he took care of his mother till the time he migrated to the U.S.

He was very strong in his faith. He started and ended his day with Bible reading and prayer. He submitted everything in prayer and patiently waited on the Lord, rather than relying on self or others. He took great delight in worshipping God along with his wife and sons.

Dad was a caring, loving companion and a strong rock to his wife supporting her through every thick and thin. He was a responsible and dependable father to his sons and daughters-in-law. He guided them to make right choices in life and develop a strong relationship with Christ. He selflessly and silently went out of his way to hep those in need and was a mentor and spiritual supporter to many.

Our dad left us for his heavenly abode at the age of 64. He took his last breath on 22nd January 2022 at 4:15pm.

Visitation for Sunny will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Graveside service will follow the service on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
