Sherry L Cash, 87, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2025. She was born on July 30, 1937, in Valdasta, Texas and graduated from Grand Prairie High School before furthering her education at Bible Baptist Seminary, where she earned her degree in 1962.
On August 26, 1960, Sherry married the love of her life, Woody Cash, and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. She dedicated much of her career to education and mentorship, serving as the Senior Secretary for the School of Accounting at the University of Texas at Arlington for 25 years. She also lovingly guided students as a dorm mother at Arlington Baptist College for 18 years. A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Sherry found great joy in her faith. She had a unique gift for singing spiritually beautiful songs, leaving behind a legacy of worship and inspiration.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Durward M. Cash, Sr. (Woody); her children, Jimbo and wife Felicia, Nathan and wife Michelle, Lianne, wife of Woody Jr.; her grandchildren, Brady Cash and wife Brayah, Brett Cash and wife Lauren, Brittni Austin and spouse McCauley, Kaci Towles and spouse Tren, Makaylyn Cook and spouse Michael, A.J. Cash, Micah Cash, and Riley Cash; and her great-grandchildren, Asher Austin, Oliver Austin, Seth Austin, Witten Towles, Nora Towles, Logan Cook. She also leaves behind her step grandchildren, Jesse, and Bubba,his wife, Lauren and their son, Crew.
Sherry was preceded in death by her son, Durward M. Cash Jr.; her parents, Geneva and V.E. Richardson; and her brother, Vinson Richardson.
Her kindness, faith, and love for family will be cherished forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Arlington Baptist University Athletic Department.
A visitation for Sherry will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington, TX 76017. A funeral service will take place Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pleasantview Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers are Jimbo Cash, Nathan Cash, Micah Cash, Tren Towles, McCauley Austin, Michael Cook, Brett Cash and Brady Cash.
