Sheree Nan Berry Carter was born October 13, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Daphne Gayle Clack and Walter Wayne Berry and entered her heavenly home on June 15, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK after a long, courageous fight with health issues.
She grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas and lived there throughout her entire life. She graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1974 where she was on the Cheyanne dance team.
Sheree was a beautiful person with an infectious laugh. She never met a stranger. She was always kind and giving to everyone she encountered in her life. Her favorite titles in her life were 'Mom' and 'Grammy' although she was lovingly referred to by her granddaughters as Graham Cracker or Gigi.
She would do everything in her power to make sure her kids and grandkids were happy. She always made sure she attended all the school functions and sports activities for all 3 of her children. She was always running in 3 different directions to make sure that all the kids got to where they needed to go. She also loved attending her grandkids events, even more than she enjoyed her own kids events. Even if that meant she had to drive 3 hours away and sit at a hot ballfield all weekend.
There were times when she was "mom" to other kids as well, because in her house we were all family. Sheree always had a house full of kids as she enjoyed having all of her children's friends around.
For the last 18 years she has worked as a mutuel teller at Lone Star Park where she made many friends and loved them all. She always came home with stories about singing terribly to country music at work with her coworkers and some crazy stories about her customers.
Sheree loved with her whole entire heart. When you hurt, she hurt, and when you were happy, she was happy as well.
She leaves behind a legacy and is survived by her sisters, Teree Berry of Grand Prairie, TX, and Misty and Jim Simpson of Midlothian, TX; her children, Kendra and Jason Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, Dustin Carter of Grand Prairie, TX, Kelci and Micah Clanton of Grand Prairie, TX; and her furry kid, Bonnie; and her grandchildren, Sierra Williams, Abby Williams, Rylee Carter- Clanton, Hallie Williams, Jay Williams, and Landon Clanton; along with numerous cousins as well as nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered by her contagious smile and her willingness to give you the shirt off of her back. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Sheree will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Beltline Road, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
