“Give me a problem and I’ll hand you a solution.” Those who knew Robert Michael Davis would agree that motto accurately described him. Robert was a man of great drive and a very original, independent thinker. For Robert, no challenge was impossible, and just about any desired result was within his grasp. Robert placed great trust in his intuition. Since that intuition generally led him in the right direction, who was he to doubt it.
He was the son of Ardith W. Davis and Delores J. Pizell. His childhood found him in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, where he matured into the independent person he eventually became.
Robert grew up with five siblings. He had an older sister, Kathy, two older brothers Ron and Dave, a younger sister, Vickie and a younger brother, Jim.
He had three children, Lisa Thompson, Josh Gann, Kelly Donoho. He also had five grandchildren, Jacob, Alyssa, Jason, Madelyn and Lilly.
His primary occupation was a plumber. He was employed for over 20 years with Reed Plumbing.
His favorite pursuits were BBQing, restoring old cars, attending auto car shows and going to auto swap meets.
Watching his favorite car racing sporting events by himself was never a problem for Robert. You could always find him outback in his garage watching car races.
While he never set out to gain individual recognition, Robert did receive honors and awards. Some of his most prestigious awards included numerous awards for restored show cars.
Robert was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of Robert's favorites was Maya, a Pug. They were best friends for 10 years. She still misses him.
Robert Michael Davis passed away on April 25, 2021 at Medical City Arlington, Texas. Robert fought a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Services will be held at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home.
