Rebecca V. Serna is preceded in death by her husband Arturo Reyes Serna, father Miguel Villalon Sr and step father Felipe Rangel. She is survived by her mother Ofelia Rangel, sister Diana Salazar, and brothers Gilbert Villalon and Miguel Villalon Jr. as well as her three children Sandra Serna Rowell, Jodavid Serna and Cynthia Serna Bortzfield, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Born in August of 1951, Rebecca grew up in Raymondville, TX, where she ultimately met and fell in love with Arturo Serna. They moved to Grand Prairie, TX after marriage and there raised their 3 children. Rebecca was a woman of God and hard worker. She enjoyed many things like reading novels, watching sci-fi shows, going to the movies, playing games and going to the casino. After a brief bout with Dementia and stomach illness, she passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023 surrounded by her 3 children, son-in-law, and granddaughter in the early morning. Her faith played a major role in her life, and her legacy is of resilient faith in the face of turbulent times. As her children, we hold on to God’s promise that we will see our Dad and Mom again!! Rebecca will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her!!!
A visitation for Rebecca will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Beltline Road, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
