Pauline Jasper McCulley passed from this earthly life to a better life on January 3, 2021 at the age of 98. She was born April 12, 1922 to Robert C. and Pearl Jasper two miles west of Grand Prairie in a little 3 room farm house. At the age of seven, she started to the old Grand Prairie School, a two story red brick building on College Street. In 1939 she graduated from high school and was proud to be a Gopher. Hard work, church, school, family and “kinfolks” were her lifestyle.
At an early age her parents and a family of four started attending First Baptist Church, which was church home to several family members until their death.
At the age of eleven she gave her heart to Jesus and became a member of the First Baptist Church in her hometown. She and her husband Everette E. McCulley lived in Grand Prairie for a number of years then 1975 moved to Desoto to make their home for twenty years. Hampton Road Baptist Church was her church home there. Moving back to Grand Prairie they became members again of her home church again until his death in 1998.
Pauline remained in Grand Prairie and maintained her membership at First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie.
She was employed in the accounting field for most of her working years. She was also a “starving landscape artist” for over twenty years a work that was a great joy to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Odessa and Marie, two brothers, Lamond and Bobby Jasper, one niece Cheryl Jasper Bratcher.
She is survived by one loving brother, Charles L. Jasper and wife Charniece of Jacksonville, TX; sister-in-law, Barber Jasper of Hurst, TX. Other survivors include the following nieces and nephews and their spouses: Melva and Clayton Daugherty of Houston, TX, Ron McFarland of Santa Fe, NM, Paula Dennis of Richardson, TX, Robert and Donna Jasper of Arlington, TX, Lamond (Monty) and Suzan Jasper, Freida and Steve Grimes of Jacksonville, TX, and Jill and Robert Downey of Spring, TX; other survivors are great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, 8 great-great nephews.
