Patrick "Pat" Steven Martin

Patrick “Pops” Steven Martin, aged 68 of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 while surrounded by his loving family. Pops was a beloved husband, world-class Dad, and the best all around Pops.

He was born on November 3, 1954 to Glenn and Dolores Martin in Port Washington, WI . He was the second of 10 children. They relocated in 1965 and raised their family in Grand Prairie,TX and the children attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School. Pat met the love of his life, Christine Sarabia in 1970, they married in 1974 and started a family with 3 children. Pat was a member of the United States Army Infantry and served his country proudly from November 1974 until April 1977, which included some time in Germany. He served in Company A 1st Battalion 50th Infantry 2nd Armored Division FORSCOM, attained the rank of PFC, and received a Marksmanship (Rifle) Medal.

After sharing their lives for over 50 years Pat and Christine have enjoyed traveling to casinos, on cruises, RV camping, to exotic beaches and most recently recently a once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii, Fiji and Australia. As an avid outdoorsman, Pat could often be found at the deer lease hunting, at the lake fishing or kicked back beside a roaring campfire reading a good book with a cup of coffee or spinning tall tales, because all who knew him well also know he was the self-proclaimed Texas State Champion of All Things.

Pat was a loyal employee of Condumex Inc. for over 25 years. Pat went on to work at Bombardier Aerospace before retiring in 2020 to allow more time to travel and enjoy his 3 beloved grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Christine (Sarabia) Martin of Grand Prairie, daughters Jennifer (Dixon) Lansdon and son-in-law Charles of Bedford,TX and Stacy (Dixon)Cox and son-in-law Christopher of Azle, TX, and 3 cherished grand children, Caden Cox, Courtney Cox , and Cody Cox also of Azle, TX. Siblings

Cindy Wys and husband Bryan of Topeka, IL, sister Sandra Walkley, and husband David, of Grand Prairie, brother Kevin Martin and wife Sondra of Grand Prairie, sister Monica Combs and husband Frank of Grand Prairie, sister Marcia Weaver and husband Kurt of Grand Prairie, brother Kim Martin and wife Dorothy of Chandler, TX, sister Christine Wallace and husband Bill of Grand Prairie, sister Pamela Porter and husband Greg of Cedar Hill, TX. 61 nieces an nephews and countless lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by this parents Glenn and Dolores Martin of Grand Prairie, TX, son Steven Dixon of Loneoak, AR, brother Michael Martin and wife Susie Houston, TX, and mother and father in law, John and Frances Sarabia of Grand Prairie, TX and other extended family members.

A Visitation for Pat will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.
