Melanie attended Burton Adventist Academy from first grade through graduation of the twelfth grade. She was an active member of the Grand Prairie Seventh-day Adventist Church and was baptized into the church on August 23, 1986.
After high school graduation in May of 1996 , Melanie worked for a short time with her Dad at Southwestern Life Insurance in the marketing department before meeting and marrying Jacob Gibson on August 11, 1997. She had two sons - Caleb Matthew Gibson and Colton Glenn Gibson.
Melanie went to work at Allstate Insurance Company on October 30, 2006 and was employed there until the time of her death (almost 16 years). She worked in accounting and claims and received several promotions and recognition awards during these years.
Melanie enjoyed traveling and taking vacations with her sister and family. As Melanie grew up, her family enjoyed many camping trips and vacation trips together. Some of her favorite vacations were to Colorado (jeeping), to Las Vegas, and to the beach at Destin, FL. She also enjoyed sports and was an avid Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers fan and attended lots of the games. Swimming and picnicking with her family and friends was a favorite also.
Melanie was preceded in death by her divorced husband Jacob Gibson, both sets of her grandparents - Albert & Doris Sutton and Albert & Nona Belz, one uncle - Gideon Belz, and 2 cousins - Gregory Jurl Kirk and Suzan Lewis.
Melanie is survived by two sons - Caleb Matthew Gibson (and fiancée Katelyn) and Colton Glenn Gibson, her parents - Glenn & Debra Belz, one sister - Aimee Renae Belz, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Melanie will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Grand Prairie Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4125 Lake Ridge Pkwy, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. A graveside service will occur Friday, April 29, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Macomb Cemetery, 133 Macomb Cemetery Road, Whitesboro, Texas 76273.
