Marie S Webb passed away August 31, 2013. She was born January 23, 1928 in Lula Community, LA to Roy Weldon and Amoryst Smith. Marie grew up in north Louisiana and parts of Texas, due to her father being in the oil industry. She attended North Western State in Louisiana and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree. With her degree she became a teacher, mainly of Jr. High School. She taught social studies, government and history. She married the love of her life James Webb on July 7, 1951. With James in the military they traveled all over the world and she had the opportunity to teach on the Air force base in Japan. In the states she taught in Louisiana and Tennessee for a combined total of 28 years.During her travels Marie found great pleasure watching any type of body of water. She enjoyed reading, journaling, and was an avid collector of angels, cups and saucers, and postcards. A fierce defender of the people that she loved, she was always in your corner. She was a loving wife, nurturing mother and grandmother and a dedicated teacher.She had a dry sense of humor and could be head strong in her beliefs. However, she was a strong and loyal friend and neighbor.She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Amoryst Smith and son Jeffery Allen Webb. She is survived by her husband James Webb; sons Eric Webb and wife Carita, Rusty Webb; grandchildren Haley Webb, Joseph Webb and wife Michelle; great-grandchild Carson Webb; brother Roy Smith and adopted children Karen Bond and Robbye Bond.
