Mr. Durbin grew up in Indiana. He enlisted in the Air Force and served four years as an automatic flight control and weapons control technician. He served two years in the Marine Corps Reserve as an aircraft electrician.
He was a commercial artist. He graduated from Southside High School, Muncie, Indiana in 1967, and was voted “Best Artist” in a class of 500. He graduated from the Dallas Art Institute in 1976. He was an artist/illustrator and assistant advertising art director with The Fort Worth Star-Telegram for eleven years. He was owner/operator of Excalibur Enterprises, an advertising art sole proprietorship. He was advertising manager for Stripling & Cox department stores for eight years and a graphic artist with Jerry Seville Ministries, Fort Worth, for two years.
He was known for his sense of humor and amazing memory. He loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Darlene White. He is survived by a sister, Deanna Paris, Clarks Hill, Indiana and two brothers, Kenneth Durbin, Sarasota Florida and Gary Durbin, Grand Prairie, Texas.
