Kenneth E. Bradley passed away January 9, 2021 due to dementia. He was born October 28, 1925 in Dodge City, Kansas to Floyd and Melvina Bradley. He graduated from Benson High School in Portland, Oregon. He later joined the Navy in January 1944 serving on the USS Steamer Bay CVE-87 in the Pacific during WWII. He was honorably discharged April 1946.
He then bought a motorcycle and traveled with his friends until he enlisted in the Army January 1949. While he was stationed in Germany after WWII he met his love and married Erna Michalik September 1953. They had three children. During his service in WWII and Vietnam War, Ken earned numerous medals and awards. Ken made a suggestion that resulted in an improved method of defueling UH-1 Aircraft thereby increasing efficiency of operations and simplifying work procedures for which he was recognized.
After retirement he continued his helicopter mechanical skills in the Civil Service. Ken was one in a million and lived life to the fullest. He always enjoyed talking to, meeting new folks and helping all with open arms. His smile, laughter and love of friends and family will be greatly missed as well as his skills for fixing cars and boats. He loved to hunt and fish and listen to county music and TV shows.
Ken is survived by his daughter Evelyn Hoenniger and husband Phil. His son Larry Bradley, his daughter Debbie McCulley and husband Mark. His grandchildren Richard Hoenniger, Steve and Megan Hoenniger, Cheryl and Scott Darling. Mark and Haley McCulley, Michelle and Tom Riordan, Kendell and Kevin Lynxwiler, Dustin, Gloria and Kenny Bradley. Thirteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 on January 30, 2021.
