Josiephine was born on June 21, 1930, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, to Reece and Mary Jenkins. She has two siblings who preceded her in death. Her brother, Reece Jenkins, Jr. strongly influenced her life. She also has a younger sibling, Adolphus Jenkins.
She met and married L.C Johnson, and soon afterward, they moved to Chicago, IL, where they worked and started a family. From their union were born two sons, Steven Johnson, who preceded her in death, and her youngest child, Wade Johnson, who was there for her until God called her home.
Josiephine had a normal childhood, was educated, raised in a Christian background, and enjoyed reading her bible and praying for and with others. Josiephine professed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. Josephine was a loving, caring person, devoted wife, and friend, always thinking of others first.
Josiephine leaves to cherish her memory; her son, Wade Johnson and daughter-in-law, Toni Johnson. She also leaves her grandchildren, Latonya T. Thompson (Kevin), Wade Floyd, Jr. (Lisa), Danielle Daley (Kevin), Cordaro W. Johnson (Lorin), and Toni M.L. Johnson (Kelvin); and a host of great-grandchildren (17), nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friend/sister, Ann Lewis.
Indeed, Josiephine will be missed and always loved.
