I was a fresh 21 yr old from corpus didnt know anyone till after getting into drywall started bar hoping & meet 2 brothers ,pinche' Joe & George Garza, lol. Well not much longer Pj  introed me to 2 brothers Jose & Vio, well i am 51yrs. of age now,  i can honestly say alot of manhood was taught to me by Jose, truth,honor,respect,dedication,determination,firmness,but also compassion,love and kindness all of this and i see all these traits passed on through him to the whole Gonzales family. I truley love yall hope on my day i am atleast half the great man Jose was to me. My condolences to the entire Gonzales family and may God keep yall in his arms 

We thought of you today, but is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and the days before that too and still disbelief of the news came to us. We all will speak of you and all the memories which we will never part. Lord has you in his keeping and will have you in our hearts. This isn’t goodbye but until we meet again~ Joe & Jany Salazar 

I remember as a kid growing up my dad Vio was always working so he didn't have much time to spend with us kids so my uncle Jose would take me and my brothers to the park and let us catch the baseball as he batted them out to us. I remember thinking wow he could be knocking them out of the park if he was pro. He took us fishing and stuff too. This was before he had his own kids. I always new he would be a great dad.  We grew up in a rough neighborhood so one time when he saw my little brother was getting beat up in the front yard he grabbed a hand full of ants from an ant pile and shoved it down the bully's pants. That kid ran screaming down the street. That was classic. Much love to you Uncle Pato and thanks for the wonderful memories..

Brother,  I'm gonna miss you like crazy. I remember  when we stayed behind for ur graduation. It was you n me only and you got mad cause Mi tia Juana favored me. I'm gonna miss ur silly jokes everytime we talked. I'll never forget all that you did for me and my boys. Luv you brother.  RIP.♥️♥️🙏🙏😪😪😪😪

Very sorry for the lost of uncle Jose AKA “Pato” 🙏🏻.  Man have a lot of great memories with this man and lots of respect for him growing up.  I must say he was always willing to give a hand when need it but first get ready for a great lecture and some great advice 🤝.   I remember we as a family  couldn’t wait for Thanksgiving to drive up to Dallas.  He would always welcome us with open arms.  Pato was always ready and excited to take us all to the Cowboys Game and Six Falgs.   I also remember when he would drive his family to the valley. The first thing he wanted to do is go to South Padre Island.  I tell you what Pato  could swim! 🏊‍♀️ He loved to toss his nephew’s  into the water and that’s when everyone would start running away from him. Lol, some great memories. I can stay here and go on and on about Pato.  He was an awesome Uncle, a Great father, friend and most important a role model to me 😔.  Till we meet again Uncle, may you rest in piece.🙏🏻🙏🏻

My deepest condolences to the entire Gonzales family. Jose was a great man, he was always there to talk, give advise and give a lending hand when needed. I met Jose when i was a teenager. He and my Dad were long time friends, he always treated us with great respect. I will remember him as such a man. RIP Jose and here is one more for Jose....“Ay Amelia” I would get a big laugh out of that. He will be truly missed. 

I just want to say that im going to miss you uncle Jose and that I really appreciate all that you did to help my family and I whenever you could. I remember uncle Jose would always give me and my grandma Melida some doughnuts and menudo every sunday when we would go over there after cleaning the bar and thats part of the reason why I love menudo so much. Uncle Jose got me hooked. He always took my grandma to Vegas with him and she would always be so happy. I appreciate all the easter egg hunts and all the times you would let us go swimming in your backyard. Its stuff like that i will never forget and will always be a good part of my memories. I appreciate all that love uncle Jose. My condolences to the family. 

I met my father in law 23 years ago ....I’m sure I wasn’t his favorite person in the world at the time and rightfully so. But as time passed I won him over, and we had an awesome relationship. He taught me many things over the years like working a grill, installing light fixtures and ceiling fans, toilets expanded my knowledge and ability to work on cars and so much more. But most importantly he taught me to enjoy life and what in means to be a provider for your family. He spent his time and money helping others and doing the things he enjoyed ( some might have even said he over spent ) but he would always say “it’s only money You can’t take it with you when you die”People always ask me if I get along with my father in law and I always tell them hell yeah man it’s like hanging out with one of my friends. Gonna miss the times we shared together drinking beer and talking sports. You were more than just a father figure to me you were my brother and my friend. Until we meet again Suegro ,cheers 🍺 May you Rest In Peace
