Joe A. Espinoza, age 74 of Grand Prairie, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. He was born on December 28, 1947 in Robstown, Texas, the son of Antonio Espinoza and Maria De La Luz Caballero Espinoza. Joe married Gracie Martinez on August 21, 1972, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing.
Joe is survived by his wife, Gracie Espinoza; daughter Monica Gamez; grand-daughters Amanda Gamez, Marissa (J. Aleman) Gamez, and Emma Gamez; grandson Jordan Gamez; great grand-daughter, Melanie Aleman; brother Luis (Helen) Espinoza. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Espinoza and Frank (Linda) Espinoza. Also left to cherish his memories are brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
Joe was born in Robstown, Texas and moved to Grand Prairie in 1984. He worked in South Texas at Hialco/OIC Housing Assistance Inc., and SER-Jobs for Progress, Inc. He later worked at Grand Prairie Independent School District as a Career and Technology education teacher. He was also the owner/contractor of Garnet Development LLC. Joe served in the United States Army Reserve.
He devoted much of his free time to giving back to his family and his community – including volunteering for the Wounded Warrior Project. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others, cooking, building, remodeling, fishing, and gardening, especially with his fig trees, cactus and chile plants. During his downtime, Joe enjoyed taking naps.
Joe will forever leave a lasting impression on his family, friends, and fellow students – all of whom will remember his devotion and compassion.
Funeral services for Joe will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am. Funeral service will begin at 11:00am.
Burial will occur following services at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Beltline Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
