Jerry Keith Marsalis

Jerry Keith Marsalis passed away September 14, 2013. He was born in Quanah, TX to Elton Bryan Marsalis and Bobbie LaRue Leonard.Jerry attended elementary, Jr. High, and High School in Quanah, TX. He was a barber by trade, but consulted on real estate for 25 years. In 2005 he retired from working as a barber. Jerry was associated with the Boys & Girls Club and was a Big Brother for several years. He was a board member for the Grand Prairie Sports Authority and was a chairman for Planning and Zoning in Grand Prairie.Jerry was a wonderful husband, loving father, grandfather and the best friend you could have. He was a strong provider for his family and always had the time to listen to his grandchildren. Very organized, he was the king of his house. He always tried to be involved with the ones he loved, including his church, Assembly of God. When he was ready for rest and relaxation he would head south to the hill country in Texas for deer hunting.He is preceded in death by his parents Elton and Bobbie LaRue Marsalis, daughters Selinda Vanous and Denise Marsalis.He is survived by his wife Charlotte Marsalis; grandchildren Joshua Eakins and wife Ashley, Brittany Cosper and husband David, Mollie Vanous and Chandler Vanous; great-grandchildren Micah Cosper and Heston Cosper; sister Barbara Nelson, and brother Stephen Marsalis.
