Jerry Dean Davis, 77, passed away January 11, 2017. He was born July 18, 1939, in Helena, OK. Jerry grew up and graduated high school in Helena, OK. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Jerry was a Funeral Director/Embalmer for almost 30 years, and before that he had worked in retail. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Dallas. He had also earned a degree in business management at Phoenix College. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge where he became Worshipful Master of The Grand Lodge of Texas #64-A. He loved music. For many years, he served as organist for his church, was a member of an award-winning barbershop choir and sang in church choirs. Jerry also loved genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Davis; an adopted daughter, Kim Parsons; a grandson, Jordan Parsons; and his parents, Bennie Lyle and Marjorie Marie Kline Davis. Jerry is survived by sisters, Sherry Ann Moser of Abilene, KS, and Karen Coulter and husband Leon of Helena, OK; and brothers, William Perry Davis and wife JoAnn of Alamogordo, NM, and James Lyle Davis and wife Sandra of Lorena, TX; a son, Greg Parsons; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Visitation: 8:30 am to 9:30 am, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Prairie.
Funeral Service: 9:30 am, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Prairie.
Committal Service: 11:30 am, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
