Surrounded by his family, James Robert Wright, "Jimmy" of Grand Prairie, Texas peacefully went to be with the Lord.
He was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in the greater Nashville area where he played linebacker for his high school football team winning two state championships. He then went on to serve our country for many years in the U.S. military. After a number of years with the United States Army highlighted by accomplishments, medals, awards, and several promotions, he chose to continue serving in the National Guard for many more years.
Later as a civilian, he worked with both large corporations and small businesses. He subsequently became an independent contractor and ultimately went into business in the area of commercial property maintenance.
He read the Bible daily and in his spare time became well versed in government, history, and economics.
He also became quite accomplished at golf, but his main priority was family and friends. Second only to his love and service of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
James was born to and preceded by his parents, Norman E. Wright, Sr., and Annie M. Wright, and preceded by his older brother Norman E. Wright, Jr.
He is survived by his nephews Tommy and Bobby, their spouses, children, grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Jackie.

Family will be receiving guests during the viewing on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. A Graveside Service only will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 S. Davis Street, Arlington, TX 76012.
