James Frank Shannon, III, age 76 passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. James was born in Dallas, Texas to James Frank Shannon, Jr. and Mary Steen Shannon.
James enlisted in the United States Army in November 1967, specializing in electrical equipment repair, with the U.S. Strategic Command. This included work with the Army Defense Personnel System, which
standardizes a method for the Army to account, assess, manage, and monitor the recovery process for personnel and their families affected and/or scattered by a wide-spread catastrophic event. He also received training in Tactical Microwave System Repair.
He proudly received a National Defense Service Medal, awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who have served honorably during periods of armed conflict or national emergency. He eventually transferred to the US Army Reserves.
There are currently no services pending for Mr. Shannon, however he will be interred at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
