Jackie Leroy Pierson

Jackie was born in Lawton, OK., on March 17, 1943. Jackie graduated from Lawton High School where he was active in football and track. He married Diann in May 1999, and they spent almost 26 wonderful years together.

After graduating high school, Jackie enlisted in the United States Navy, and spent more than 21 years proudly serving his country. He received various medals and commendations while in the Navy, including the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, 5 Navy Good Conduct Medals, the Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal and the Naval Reserve Medal. Jackie retired as a Personnelman Senior Chief Petty Officer. After the Navy, he went to work for the United States Department of Agriculture, where he was a Fraud Investigator. He retired from the USDA after 15 years of service. Jackie was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion in the recent past.

Jackie’s hobbies were working on old cars, lawnmowers, or just about anything that needed repair. He would not quit until it was fixed. He enjoyed playing golf, buying and selling, and going to flea markets, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Diann Pierson of Milford, TX.; son, Johnny Pierson, (Tracy) of Granbury, TX.; daughter, Dawn McDaniel, (Kenny) of Edmond, OK.; stepdaughter, Tara Slough of Sulphur Springs, TX. Together Jackie and Diann share 10 grand children and 10 1/2 great grand children, along with several other family members, friends and neighbors.

Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; Jack and Jesse Pierson; sister, Dorothy Leach, and stepson; Keith Slough.

Jackie was known as a loving husband, good friend, trustworthy, caring, and he loved life and his family.

A Visitation for Jackie will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. A Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Committal Service will follow at 11:15 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.

A Funeral Reception will follow Jackie's Graveside Service, at 3505 South Elm Drive, Grand Prairie, TX 75052
