Gary was born on August 31, 1956, in Dallas, Texas to Maurice “Buck” Reed Peeples and Margaret Lavee Askew Peeples. He attended Grand Prairie High School. Upon graduation in 1974, he joined the United States Air Force. Following the Air Force, he held many jobs in his lifetime to include, construction of homes, apartment maintenance and repair, carpentry, auto mechanic, jet mechanic, lock smith, Insurance salesman, construction at DFW, maintenance on jet breezeways, AC installation and repair, Professor teaching AC installation and repair, etc. He was a Peace Officer and worked for Cockrell Hill Police Department and for the Dallas County Constable’s Office in 1988, in what was formerly Precinct 6, now Precinct 5. He later became an Ordained Street Minister. For those that knew Gary know that he was a compassionate, empathetic person who was always willing to lend a helping hand or advice.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Buck; his mother, Margaret; his son, Robert Andrew “Andy”; his sister, Linda; and his niece, Wendy.
He is survived by his daughter, Mandy; his grandchildren, Ethan and Caitlin; his sister, Venus; his fiancé, Brenda; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 12:00 PM, at Grand Prairie Funeral Home in the chapel, located at 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, directly followed by a Military Honors Ceremony at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:00 PM, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
