Gail Rowland, 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior December 17, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 14th, 1949 in Dallas, TX to Pete & Mary Swaner. Gail was a graduate of Grand Prairie H.S. in 1967 and a lifetime resident of Grand Prairie. She met Kennie while out eating with her best friend Donna, and they were later married July 3rd, 1970 (knowing she would always have the day after her anniversary off work). Gail's passion in life was complete dedication to her family, which came from her love for the Lord. She enjoyed taking her children to Six Flags on a weekly basis, then grandchildren and friends’ children as often as possible. Gail was a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church since childhood and loved her church family. She was also a long time member of Grand Prairie Saddle Club. Even though she didn't ride often, she dedicated many long hours because her family loved to ride and she made many special longtime friends there. Gail was an avid reader that spent many hours reading, especially mystery novels and those written by James Patterson. She was not much of a traveler; however, throughout the years Gail had taken an Alaskan cruise and a trip to New York with some of her dearest friends that she cherished greatly. Gail loved doing for others, and often showed that by baking pies for them. Gail is preceded in death by her parents, Pete & Mary Swaner.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Kennie Rowland; children: Bryan Chad Rowland and his girlfriend Shannon Morgan, Kristy Patterson and her husband Jarrod; grandchildren: Justin Rowland, Reece Patterson, Alex Patterson, Cayden Patterson; sisters: Olivia Swaner, Lynn Worthen and her husband Jimmy and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has designated the Arlington Cancer Center for memorial contributions. http://www.arlingtoncancercenter.com/your-community/make-donation/. The Arlington Cancer Center and their associates helped the family financially and in so many other ways.
