Elbert Lynn Smith departed to be with our Lord on May 3, 2015. He was born on June 26, 1938 in Denton, TX. He studied at Texas A&M University and had a distinguished career as a truck driver, earning over three million safe miles, along with numerous other safety awards. Elbert enjoyed enhancing his Christian walk, family, square dancing and traveling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Lynn. He leaves with us his second wife, Maureen, one sister, Carol, three grown children, Melissa, Phil (wife Michelle), and Dan (wife Kim); eight grandchildren, Zach (wife Sarah), Alex (wife Kelsi), Amanda (husband Mat), Morgan, Monica, Lauren, Klarissa and Madison. He was also blessed with six great grandchildren, August, Chandler, Aubrey, Allison, D’Artagnon and Austyn.

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, TX.
The family would like to thank the employees at the Texas Oncology at the Sammons Center Baylor. Thanks and Appreciation go to our wonderful, caring Oncologist, Dr. A. David Mc Callum, Yvonne Atkins N.P., and Denise Pope R.N.O.C.N. who have taken wonderful care of Elbert these last 4.5 years.
