It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Duane Edwin King, a beloved husband, dedicated father, esteemed military veteran, and a loving and caring person. Duane passed peacefully on November 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 23, 1941, in River Rouge, Michigan, Duane's life was a testament to courage, honor, and unwavering devotion. A man of incredible integrity, he served his country with distinction, enlisting in the United States Army at the age of 17. Throughout his 23 years in the military, Duane exemplified unwavering bravery, earning numerous commendations for his valor and dedication to duty.
Beyond his remarkable career, Duane's greatest source of pride was his family. He was a devoted Husband to his wife of 59 years, Ilse Monika King, a loving father to his children Ronald Lloyd King (Camille), Edwin Ludwig King (Terri), and Caroline Brenda Siskowic (Steve), and a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren Heather Lynn Cook, Karen Melissa Keller, Robert Joseph King, Amanda Paige Macalik, and eight great-grandchildren. His family was his guiding light and his unconditional love and support were unwavering.
Duane was a true patriarch, instilling in his children the values of honor, resilience, and compassion. He led by example, teaching the importance of selflessness, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to both family and country.
His legacy of selflessness, love, and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Duane will be deeply missed by his family, and all those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, located at 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas, on December 7, 2023, at 12:00 PM, followed by interment services at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, at 2:00 PM.
Duane's unwavering dedication to his family and his country will forever be cherished and remembered. His spirit will live in the hearts of those he loved and inspired.
