Diane Louise Rice

Diane grew up in Maryland and graduated from Bladensburg Senior High School in 1968. She looked out for her sisters. In late 1972 she settled in Texas to raise her family. Diane was a generous mother who always wanted the best for her children. She was very involved in their sports and cheerleading, and enjoyed taking long road trips in the family station wagon.

She was very helpful and thoughtful, often giving you a gift you didn’t even know that you needed. An avid Christian she had a strong faith, enjoyed Christian talk radio and was never afraid to share the word of God with those around her.

Diane liked reading mysteries, shopping, sewing, watching the food network and trying new recipes. She loved to make pulled pork but was always trying a new kabob or fancy appetizer. She was very good at keeping up with technology and loved to spoil her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Margaret Rice, father Harold Winston Rice and sister Donna Volland.

She is survived by her children Ronnie Pruitt and wife Lisa, Kristie Phillips and husband Kevin; grandchildren Christian, Deidra, Kadence, Kennedi, Kye and sister Patty Matthews and husband Ron.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home at 2pm.
