Dale Wilson McGonigal

Dale W. McGonigal, 72 of Roanoke, TX, died unexpectedly on Monday at a local hospital in Grapevine, Texas. He was the son the late Ira Wilson McGonigal Jr. and Kathleen (Kephart) McGonigal. Born in the Town of Bath, NY, he lived in the Finger Lakes Region of Lodi, NY until joining the United States Air Force in 1971 as a Weather Specialist stationed at Vance Air Force Base, OK until 1975. Prior to his military career Dale graduated from South Seneca Central School in 1969 and briefly attended SUNY Oswego before joining the military.

Dale retired from Kingdom Road Trucking in 2020 after a lengthy career of long-haul trucking. In his leisure time Dale enjoyed playing chess, listening to all genres of music, watching Fox News and of course precious time spent with his family and friends.

Dale is survived by his siblings, Karen Crane and her husband, Steve, Kathy McGonigal, Jim McGonigal and his wife, Amanda, Tom McGonigal and Lisa Grizenko and her husband, Joe; and multiple nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his daughter, Melissa Alexander and her husband, Tim as well as his multiple Grand Dogs of Roanoke, TX; son, Kyle McGonigal and his wife, Holly of Grandview; grandchildren, Kade, Cohen and Corbin; stepchildren, Jamie Fry and her husband, Rob and their children Brody & Levi of Royse City, TX, Bryan Northcutt and his wife, Rhonda and their children Harrison, Carson & Parker of Waxahachie, TX from his late wife, Melissa Trosper-McGonigal.

An inurnment for Dale will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. Following the inurnment will be a celebration of life from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home. 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
