Charles Owens

Charles is survived by his wife of 71 years, Katy and daughter Penny (Larry) and son Tommy (Cheri) as well as six grandchildren: Terra Seneriz (Frank), Jacob Owens, Micah Owens (Molly), Stephen Haley (Kirstyn), Eric Mosconi (Holly), Rebecca Morrow (Gavin) and 19 great grandchildren. Charles is also survived by brothers Johnny Owens (Diane) and Bill Owens. As well as numerous niece and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Cecil Owens, Virginia Wagner and sister Jane, daughter Patty, and son Charles Jr.

Charles was a Grand Prairie police officer from 1958 until 1982 when he transferred to the position of Director of Fleet Services. He retired from the city in 1994 after 36 years of service.

Charles was one of the founding members of the Police Alumni Association as well as a 50 year Mason and Shriner.

Charles loved to fish, travel with his wife, Katy and was an avid reader. His favorite buddy was Little Bit who loved him dearly and looked forward to treats and belly rubs.

Services are pending and will be held at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie.
